Dan Baublis has more than 30 years of executive leadership and technical management of power and energy projects around the globe. Focusing on project development, engineering and delivery, he combines a risk-based approach to contracting with cultural attunement and a strong ethical underpinning. Being instrumental in the constancy of change in the energy industry, Dan helped manage the shift from fossil fuels, bio-fuels and renewables, to energy storage and now driving the energy transition toward hydrogen.
At InterGen, as SVP of Engineering and Construction, Dan managed development engineering and engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) delivery, bringing more than 15,000 MW of combined-cycle and fossil power projects through construction and operations around the world, with many projects in excess of $1B, including projects in Turkey, China, Australia, Mexico, the UK and Netherlands. At CH2M Hill, as EVP of Global Power operations, Dan led a group of more than 100 professionals around the world, guiding new product introductions as well as spearheading work into new territories in both engineering services and EPC delivery. First-of-a-kind projects included a $1B, multi-fuel, multi-technology island power plant for a greenfield offshore LNG project in Australia. He conceptualized and drove the development of numerous business processes and supporting computer platforms, organizing and streamlining communications across a geographically and technologically diverse set of plants, enabling consistent reporting metrics and concise communications.
Dan’s experience working for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), EPC and engineering firms as well as owner/developers provides him with an unmatched perspective as to how all parties approach successful projects. As Chief Engineering Officer, he provides the technical management of the projects from development through operations, maintaining vendor and contractor relationships and building H Cycle’s team of engineering, construction and operations personnel.
A Registered Professional Engineer, Dan holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and an M.S degree in Engineering Management from Drexel University.
